3 years agoFree-agent outfielder Andrew McCutchen is in talks with the Milwaukee Brewers, according to a source. McCutchen became a free agent when the Philadelphia Phillies declined his $15 million option for the 2022 season in November of last year. The 35-year-old outfielder hit .222/.334/.444 with 27 home runs, 24 doubles, 80 RBI, 78 runs scored and six stolen bases in 574 plate appearances over 144 games, but he also struck out 132 times. Cutch was an All-Star for five straight seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates from 2011-15, but he's on the back end of his career at this point. He still has notable power, but he barely runs anymore and will be more of a late-round flier in deep mixed leagues if he's playing regularly in 2022.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
