Andrew McCutchen Won't Be Ready For Opening Day
5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Andrew McCutchen (knee) won't be ready for Opening Day but should be back sometime in April, according to Jim Salisbury. While it's unfortunate McCutchen won't be there to start the season, he should be a solid fantasy contributor for most of the year, as he's currently projected to bat leadoff for a stacked Phillies lineup. McCutchen led off all 59 games he played last season and scored 45 runs in those games. Entering his age-33 season, he's never had a season in the majors with a walk rate in the single digits and has had an on-base percentage above .360 three straight years. An ADP outside the top 200 is good value for someone with his run-scoring upside. Roman Quinn and Kyle Garlick could benefit the most from some extra playing to begin the year with McCutchen injured.
