Andrew Painter Continues Dominance In Single-A
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies pitching prospect Andrew Painter continues to dominate for Single-A Clearwater and is a name that dynasty managers need to be keeping an eye on. The 6'7 right-hander was picked 13th overall in the 2021 draft and has been nearly unhittable early in his career. In 2021, Painter made four starts in Rookie Ball and allowed just four hits and no runs in six innings. This season, Painter has made eight starts and didn't allow a run until his sixth start of the season. Overall, he is 1-1 on the season with a 1.38 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 60 strikeouts in 32 2/3 innings. Painter offers a fastball that sits in the mid-90s with a curveball that has been a strong secondary pitch and a slider that isn't far behind. With his ability to show command on those three pitches, Painter has a bright future ahead of him. Although it will be a few years until Painter can be seriously considered in fantasy leagues, dynasty managers should start tracking his progress.
