Andrew Vaughn Out With Illness Thursday
2 years agoChicago White Sox first baseman/outfielder Andrew Vaughn (illness) is feeling under the weather on Thursday, which is why he's out of the starting lineup against the Detroit Tigers, according to manager Tony La Russa. Fantasy managers should take Vaughn out of their lineups and consider him day-to-day for Friday's contest. The 24-year-old has been great in his second big-league season, hitting .298/.346/.455 with an .800 OPS, eight home runs, 38 RBI and 29 runs scored in 266 plate appearances over 62 games. Gavin Sheets will serve as the team's designated hitter and bat seventh on Thursday against Tigers right-hander Beau Brieske. Sheets has hit just .228 on the year with five home runs, but he's gone 13-for-43 (.302) with a home run and seven RBI in 13 games over the last two weeks.
