3 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hip) will serve as the designated hitter and bat eighth on Opening Day on Friday against Detroit Tigers left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez. Vaughn dealt with a hip pointer injury in camp but will be good to go for the first regular season game on Friday. The 24-year-old returned to spring action on Monday and could see some starts at third base early in the season with Yoan Moncada out three weeks with a Grade 1 oblique strain. Vaughn won't have a ton of DFS upside in the nine-hole, but he's an intriguing up-and-coming young bat with plenty of power potential in a string White Sox lineup.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
