3 years agoThe Los Angeles Angels scouted free-agent pitcher Cole Hamels during his showcase on Friday, according to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register. Hamels had made only one appearance with Atlanta last season before missing the rest of the 2020 campaign with a shoulder injury. Outside of Shohei Ohtani, the Angels rotation has been rough this season, as Alex Cobb is the only other starting pitcher on the team with a sub-4.00 ERA. Hamels could provide a good boost to the Angels if they sign him, as he posted a 3.81 ERA with a 23.2 percent strikeout rate over 141 2/3 innings of work with the Cubs in 2019.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
