3 years agoAnibal Sanchez Placed On Injrued List The Washington Nationals placed starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez (neck) on the injured list due to a cervical nerve impingement according to the Washington Post's Jesse Dougherty. Also per Dougherty, left-hander Josh Rogers was recalled to take the veteran's spot in the rotation against the Atlanta Braves on Monday. Sanchez last pitched in the Majors during the 2020 season, working to a 6.62 ERA, a 5.46 FIP, 43 strikeouts, and 18 walks in 53 innings. In six starts spanning 35.2 innings for the club last season, Rogers turned in a 3.28 ERA and a 5.83 FIP while striking out 22 batters and walking 14.
