4 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates have nabbed outfielder Anthony Alford off of waivers after he was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays earlier in the week. Long regarded as one of Toronto’s top prospects, Alford may get a chance at playing time in a Pittsburgh outfield that is desperately seeking some offensive punch. In sporadic Major League action, Alford has compiled a .155/.200/.254 slash line for his career, a far cry from his Minor League production. With stolen base potential also in his wheelhouse, Alford may have some instant DFS appeal should he join the Pirates’ starting nine in the short term.--Jesse Borek
