3 years agoMiami Marlins rookie relief pitcher Anthony Bender picked up his first major league win in Wednesday's win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. More important than the win was the fact that Bender was used as the closer, coming into a one-run lead in the ninth inning. Yimi Garcia has been closing for the Marlins for most of the season, but he's been bad lately while Bender has been almost unhittable. He did give up one hit in this one though, and it was a game-tying solo home run. Still, Bender struck out the other three hitters he faced.
