Anthony DeSclafani Chased Early In Friday Start
6 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Anthony DeSclafani struggled in a 6-5 win over the Chicago Cubs on Friday. DeSclafani lasted just 3 2/3 innings while giving up four runs on five hits and three walks. He struck out just two batters in the outing but his offense got him off the hook, resulting in a no-decision. DeSclafani now has a 2-2 record, 4.99 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and 52 strikeouts in 48 2/3 innings of work. He was starting to show some promise in late April and early May, but the young right-hander has now allowed exactly four runs in each of his past four starts. He is shaping up more like a streaming option in plus matchups as opposed to an every-week, locked-in starter. He will face the Pittsburgh Pirates in his next start.
