Anthony DeSclafani Moved To 60-Day Injured List
3 years agoThe San Francisco Giants transferred starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani (ankle) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list on Monday. DeSclafani has been out since late April due to right ankle inflammation. Despite the fact that he's been throwing for almost two weeks, he now won't be able to return to the Giants starting rotation until late June. The Giants clearly don't want to rush the 32-year-old right-hander back too soon. DeSclafani had a career year in 2021 in his first season in San Francisco, posting a career-best 3.17 ERA and 1.09 WHIP while walking 42 and striking out 152 in his 31 starts covering 167 2/3 innings. He hasn't been nearly as good in his three starts before his injury this year, surrendering nine earned runs while walking two and striking out 13 in 13 1/3 innings, but his 3.78 FIP points to some early bad luck.
