7 years agoWashington Nationals third baseman Anthony Rendon went 2-for-4 against the Padres Wednesday night and hit his first home run since returning from the disabled list. Weeks ago, Rendon fouled a ball off his foot and fractured it, but hasn't shown any ill effects since his return last Saturday. In that span, he's gone 6-for-18 with two doubles and four RBI. He's also struck out four times and taken three walks. Rendon, for whatever reason, still isn't considered a top-tier third baseman. But his age (27) and power profile suggest that his best years are ahead of him. He makes an intriguing buy-high target and will only raise his profile as the weather warms.--Mario Hernandez - RotoBaller
