7 years agoWashington Nationals third baseman Anthony Rendon (foot) will start a rehab assignment soon. He fouled a ball off his toe two weeks ago and has been slowly ramping up his baseball activities. On Tuesday, he was taking batting practice, fielding ground balls and running around the bases before the team's game against Pittsburgh. Whatever the rehab assignment is, it likely won't be long and just enough to get his timing back. The Nationals haven't been the same without him. Bryce Harper, who normally bats in front of Rendon, will see a lot less walks once he returns. Rendon had a breakout season in 2017 and there's no reason why the 27-year-old can't continue to rake once the weather heats up.--Mario Hernandez - RotoBaller
