3 years agoLos Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon (hamstring) is not ready to return from the injured list this week and will require a rehab assignment before he can be activated, according to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register. Fletcher reports that Rendon is healing slowly from a left hamstring strain that has kept him out of action since the beginning of July. Rendon has been plagued with injuries this season that have kept him from producing much at the plate when he's on the field, as he's slashing .240/.329/.382 with six home runs, 34 RBI and 24 runs scored over 58 games. Hopefully he can turn things around once he comes off the injured list, but in the meantime, Jack Mayfield will continue to see the bulk of the playing time at the hot corner.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
