Anthony Rendon Will Have Season-Ending Surgery
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon (hip) will have season-ending surgery and won't return this season. Per a tweet from the team's public relations Twitter account, the surgery is "to repair a right hip impingement." The 31-year-old had a down year at the plate in his second season with the Angels, batting .240 with a .329 on-base percentage and six home runs in 249 plate appearances. If you're looking for a fantasy replacement for Rendon from the Angels, you're probably better off looking elsewhere. Jack Mayfield has been getting most of the starts at third base lately. The 30-year-old is hitting .189 with a .222 on-base percentage and five home runs in 101 plate appearances this season.
