3 years agoChicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo continued his power surge in Tuesday's loss versus the Cincinnati Reds. Rizzo went 1-for-4 with a walk and two-run home run. Rizzo's home run in the bottom of the first made him the only player in the majors this season to homer in the first inning for three consecutive games. Rizzo has been swinging a hot bat of late and more importantly looks healthy. Rizzo has dealt with back issues this season and is also a trade candidate with the deadline coming up on Friday, but managers should have no reservations about trotting him out as their first baseman. Rizzo is now hitting .248 with 14 home runs and 40 RBI.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
