7 years agoGordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo (back) has been placed on the 10-day disabled list. Rizzo hasn’t played since this last Thursday, so his DL stint should be backdated to Friday. That would allow Rizzo to return next Monday versus the Cardinals. Backup catcher Victor Caratini has started the last three games at first base for Rizzo, but utilityman Ben Zobrist is also expected to play at first base. Zobrist has had a hot bat and is worth a short-term pickup. Rizzo should be stashed in all formats.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
