2 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo (back, head) will be placed on the injured list, according to skipper Aaron Boone. First baseman Ronald Guzman will be added to the active roster in a corresponding move on Wednesday. Rizzo received an epidural injection for his back injury last week, and he's been experiencing headaches ever since. There's no timetable for his return, and there's a chance he could miss most of the final month of the regular season in September. The 33-year-old veteran left-handed slugger has hit just .225 on the season, but he also has a .339 on-base percentage, 30 homers, 71 RBI, 71 runs and six stolen bases. Infielder DJ LeMahieu will likely continue seeing most of the playing time at first base for however long Rizzo is sidelined.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
