3 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and a home run in Friday's win over the Marlins. Rizzo announced his Yankee arrival with a bang, belting a mammoth, 449-foot homer that left his bat at a whopping 112 MPH, giving New York a 1-0 lead. The effort raised his slash line to a solid .252/.350/.457 with 15 homers, 41 RBI, and 43 runs scored. Those are solid numbers backed up by some of the better Statcast metrics of Rizzo's career, namely his average exit velocity and hard-hit rate, suggesting a strong finish to the season in the Bronx.--Tim Capurso
