Anthony Rizzo Singles, Strikes Out Twice In Loss
3 years agoChicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo went 1-for- 4 with a run scored and two strikeouts in a 7-3 loss to the Diamondbacks on Saturday. This continues what has been a cold stretch at the plate recently for Rizzo, who is slashing .194/.303/.369 with four home runs, six RBI and 11 runs scored over his last 30 games. With this slump, Rizzo's season line now stands at .241/.341/.420 with 11 homers, four steals, 35 RBI and 38 runs scored over 88 games. To say that this has been a disappointing season for Rizzo is an understatement, and while his Statcast metrics suggest he's been slightly unlucky so far, his .249 xBA and .429 xSLG don't offer much hope of a significant turnaround in the second half.
