6 years agoWith the 23rd selection in the 2018 MLB Amateur draft, the New York Yankees have selected 18-year-old catcher Anthony Seigler out of Cartersville High School as a senior. Standing at 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, Seigler is arguably the most unique talent in the draft, as he not only switch hits but also holds the ability to switch pitch as well. Even though at first glance he may seem like a gimmick player, Seigler has solid defensive skills and could be the potential catcher of the future for the Yankees. He holds scouting grades of 55 hitting, 40 power, 45 running, 55 arm and 55 fielding. The Yankees rank third on MiLB's Position Player Farm System Rankings, and Seigler ranks as the only catcher in the top 30 prospects. He will be a player to watch in the future.--Caden Inaba
