Antonio Gibson Has Shown Improvement
3 years agoWashington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson has shown plenty of improvement during offseason practices this year. "It's like night and day," running backs coach Randy Jordan said. Transitioning from playing mostly receiver in college, Gibson rushed for 795 yards and 11 touchdowns in his rookie season in 2020. He averaged 4.34 yards per carry with seven runs of 10 yards or more in his first eight games. Gibson averaged 5.05 yards per carry with 14 runs of 10 yards or more in his last six games. The 23-year-old from Memphis matured as the season went on last year and continues to show maturity in his game. The team also hopes he can improve in the passing game after catching 36 passes as a rookie. Gibson hasn't shown any ill-effects from the turf toe injury that caused him to miss two games last year. A fully healthy Gibson should be drafted as a low-end RB1/high-end RB2 this year.
