Antonio Gibson Maturing As a Running Back
3 years agoWashington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson had an impressive rookie season when he served as the team's primary ball-carrier. After playing mostly as a receiver in college, this past season was all that more impressive. "Last year was still a learning process for me, I got the hang of it as the season went on and I started showing progress. I feel like I should be able to show a lot of different things this year," Gibson said. Heading into 2021, Gibson will look to improve as both a runner and pass-catcher, as he'll be leaned on more in all situations. "You can tell he's matured, he has a better feel and understanding," head coach Ron Rivera said. He should have no issue reaching 1,000 rushing yards and can easily catch 50 passes with a more expanded role as a receiver. When you pair this with the potential for more touchdown opportunities in Scott Turner's offense, Gibson has RB1 upside in 2021.
