Antonio Gibson Operating As Lead Back In Week 1
2 years agoWashington Commanders running back Antonio Gibson is set to assume most of the backfield work in Week 1. Although the 24-year-old was a popular bust pick for many in the offseason, his door to production has reopened due to the unfortunate injury to teammate Brian Robinson. He was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list while recovering from surgery to address wounds sustained during an attempted robbery. The Commanders are starting their season against the Jacksonville Jaguars, a team that ranked near the bottom of the league in run defense last season. Gibson should be started as a solid RB2 with the potential for a large scoring output.
