Antonio Gibson Shows Improvement With Second Team
2 years agoWashington Commanders running back Antonio Gibson had two carries for three yards while gaining 37 yards through the air during Saturday's preseason loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. After struggling in his first preseason game, Brian Robinson drew the start over Gibson on Saturday. While working with the second team, the third-year back mainly flourished as a receiver. On the Commanders' first touchdown drive, the former Memphis Tiger contributed 41 of the team's 84 total yards. If Robinson takes over more on early downs, Gibson may be in line to see a more substantial share of the receiving work out of Washington's backfield. The 24-year-old will look to build on Saturday's performance in the team's final preseason game next Saturday against the Baltimore Ravens.
