Antonio Senzatela Takes The Loss On Tuesday
3 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander Antonio Senzatela took the loss on Tuesday when he surrendered four runs on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts over five innings in an 8-1 loss to the Padres. Senzatela was making his first start since being activated from the injured list after straining his groin. He pitched well in the beginning, preventing San Diego from scoring through his first four innings. But things started to fall apart in the top of the fifth when Manny Machado tagged him for a two-run homer. He came back out for the sixth inning but issued a walk and a single before being replaced by Tyler Kinley, who allowed both inherited runners to score. The 26-year-old has given up 11 earned runs over his last three starts (14 2/3 innings) and now owns an ugly 5.97 ERA and 1.59 WHIP on the season. He's not worth a roster spot at this point and should most definitely be avoided in his next start vs. the Reds.
