Antonio Senzatela Tosses Sim Game Friday
4 years agoColorado Rockies right-handed pitcher Antonio Senzatela (hamstring) has been slated to work two innings during a simulated game Friday. Beforehand, manager Bud Black was optimistic that Senzatela would be able to open the year in the Rockies' starting rotation, forgoing a previously expected stint on the injured list. While Senzatela excelled across 12 starts last season to the tune of a 3.44 ERA and 1.21 WHIP, his lack of strikeouts (5.0 K/9) makes him a concerning season-long fantasy asset when factoring in Coors Field. With batters whiffing at just 18.4 percent of his pitches last year, there simply aren't enough swings and misses coming from Senzatela to instill confidence in any format outside of DFS (where he's most valuable when making road starts). Barring a setback Friday, Senzatela appears in line to break camp as a regular in Colorado's rotation.
