3 years agoAric Almirola rolled from the back of the field to the front at Daytona on Sunday. He was in a great position to put his Ford into victory lane after the lap 195 wreck. Almirola was fifth in the restart for the final six laps which turned into a two lap shootout. In his last Daytona 500 as a full-time driver, the No. 10 car just could not get into the slipstream or get a push closer to the front. As a result, Almirola finished in fifth place. Still, it was an excellent result for a driver who started 38th and did not lead a single lap. Daytona is always a luck of the draw when it comes to wrecks and Almirola at least had a chance. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
