3 years agoAric Almirola was near the top at the end of the Daytona 500 last week. He wound up fifth after being fifth at the restart. Almirola was again near the top contenders this Sunday at Fontana. This time, the result was one start worse but the Ford driver still ended up sixth. The No. 10 driver was sandwiched between Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick as he tried to hold off Kyle Busch as well. It was quite a ride in the final laps for Almirola who is in his last full-time year of driving on the top circuit. So far, a fifth and sixth is quite a start for a driver who struggled most of last season. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
