6 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Ariel Jurado allowed two earned runs, six hits and two walks with three strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings in a no-decision and quality start on Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels. He threw just 54 of his 94 pitches for strikes, but managed to limit the damage. However, the bullpen was an absolute train wreck, as Jeffrey Springs followed Jurado and allowed four earned runs and four hits without recording an out in 15 pitches to take the relief loss, and Kyle Dowdy allowed an unearned run with two wild pitches and an intentional walk while recording just two outs. Jurado will look for better relief from his teammates on Friday against the visiting Royals.--Daniel Dobish
