Aroldis Chapman Might Land On Injured List
3 years agoNew York Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman's (Achilles) MRI exam on Sunday night came back clean, and the team is treating the injury as tendonitis. The Yankees will assess all of their options on Monday and might make a decision on whether to put Chapman on the injured list later on Monday, according to manager Aaron Boone. The hard-throwing lefty probably won't be available to pitch on Monday against the Baltimore Orioles, so Clay Holmes is worth a pickup in fantasy if he's available off your league's waiver wire. Holmes recorded two saves for the Yankees last week and has allowed only one earned run while walking two and striking out 21 in 21 2/3 innings over a league-high 20 appearances. If you roster Chapman, prepare for a potential trip to the IL.
