2 years agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman (leg) will start a minor league rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset on Sunday. Chapman said he expects to have another rehab outing after that and then expects to be activated from the injured list on the team's upcoming road trip. The 34-year-old left-hander threw a bullpen session on Friday. Barring a setback on Sunday or Monday, Chapman could rejoin the team for the start of their series next Tuesday against the division-rival Boston Red Sox. Chapman has struggled this year to the tune of a 4.70 ERA (4.78 FIP) and a 1.43 WHIP while earning nine saves and striking out 35 in 30 2/3 innings pitched. Clay Holmes is cemented in as the team's closer, so Chapman is likely to return in a setup role when he returns from the injured list.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
