4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo has been working out the best he can as he self-isolates with COVID-19. A's pitching coach Scott Emerson said Luzardo could make a few short starts or work in relief as he builds up endurance. Emerson added that how long Luzardo pitches will be determined by pitch count and matchups, leaving the door open for the lefty to pitch in any situation until he is ready to resume a normal starter's workload. Luzardo is one of the best pitching prospects in baseball and offers enormous upside when he's ready to start. He should be targeted just after pick No. 100 overall on draft day, but his likely limited workload early on will likely drop him a bit on draft boards.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
