7 years agoFor just about all of 2018, New York Mets infielder Asdrubal Cabrera has been on fire. His ownership levels across all fantasy platforms has skyrocketed, and it’s easy to see why. He’s slashing .320/.369/.555 with six home runs, 22 runs scored and 21 RBI in 141 plate appearances. Despite the fantastic numbers, fantasy owners may want to start looking into contingency plans, though. Cabrera finished 0-for-5 against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday where just about every other Met was crushing the ball, and he didn’t do much in a 1-for-4 effort against the Colorado Rockies on Sunday. Since about Friday or so, to the naked eye Cabrera seemed to be pressing a bit at the plate, as noted by Mets broadcaster Keith Hernandez on Monday. You’re definitely not dropping Cabrera, but you may want to explore some acquisitions just in case a slump is on the way.--John Smith
