Astros Not In On Michael Conforto
2 years agoThe Houston Astros are said to not be involved in talks to sign free-agent outfielder Michael Conforto. Reports surfaced from SI.com on Wednesday night that the Astros had made a multi-year offer to Conforto, but those reports turned out to be false. Conforto didn't end up signing with a team by the deadline on Wednesday that would have allowed him to be eligible to play in the postseason. The 29-year-old had surgery on his right shoulder in April, but he reportedly made enough progress to potentially help a team as a designated hitter down the stretch in September. It remains to be seen if he'll wait to sign with an MLB club until the offseason now. In 125 games for the New York Mets in 2021, he hit .232/.344/.384 with 14 home runs, 55 RBI and 52 runs scored.
