6 years agoAccording to multiple sources, the Oakland Athletics looked poised to land New York Mets closer Jeurys Familia in a trade. Oakland is reportedly offering multiple prospects and a deal could be completed in the next couple of days. While no one has been confirmed, Jose Mateo has been a name some pundits think can go to New York. In Oakland, Familia would work as the setup man to closer Blake Treinen. While Familia would lose his fantasy value due to no longer seeing save chances, a trade to the A's would give Oakland one of the better back ends of the bullpen as they attempt to sneak into the playoffs.--Dan Fappiano
