6 years agoThere once was a time when Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez was one of baseball’s best young hurlers, but that star has faded quite a bit. Sanchez couldn’t get things going on Thursday against the Oakland Athletics, allowing four earned runs on five hits and four walks. He did strike out eight on the day, though, which tied for his highest total on the year. Regardless, Sanchez has largely struggled in 2018 after his 2017 was derailed by blister and fingernail injuries. He hasn’t posted a quality start since April 25 and owns a poor 4.47 WHIP and 1.53 WHIP on the season. He’s a guy you want to try and hold onto, but leave him on your bench until he turns it around.--John Smith
