5 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes (groin) collected an RBI single in three at-bats while also scoring a run in his first minor-league rehab game on Tuesday with Class A Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.). He was able to play five innings behind the plate, and it appears he made it through the outing unscathed. Barnes is expected to play at least one more game on the farm before rejoining the big club for the weekend road series against the San Francisco Giants. When he returns it might mean Will C. Smith's days in L.A. are numbered with Russell Martin also in the mix behind the dish for manager Dave Roberts.--Daniel Dobish
