Austin Ekeler - Week 13 Outlook for Fantasy Football
3 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler has been one of the best at his position this season, but he will draw a tough matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13. The Bengals run defense has been very efficient on the year, limiting opponents to just 74 yards per game on the ground. They have also allowed just two opposing teams to go for over 100 yards. The good news is that they have allowed eight rushing touchdowns. More good news for Ekeler is that they have struggled to defend running backs in the passing game and are giving up seven receptions for 55 yards to the position. Fantasy managers know that Ekeler's bread and butter is in the passing game, and despite the fact that he may struggle to find much room on the ground, the veteran should be able to make up for it in the passing game. Entering Week 13 and beyond, Ekeler remains an RB1 in all formats, but with the playoffs slowly approaching, fantasy managers would be wise to consider insuring him with rookie running back Larry Rountree III or Justin Jackson just to be safe.
