Austin Ekeler Week 16 Outlook for Fantasy Football

2 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Wednesday, and that will make his status iffy going into a Week 16 matchup versus the Houston Texans. It comes at a bad time with the fantasy playoffs underway and the Texans presenting a tasty matchup for the star running back. If Ekeler were to suit up for Sunday's tilt, he would go up against a Texans defense that allows 125 yards per game on the ground, but just four receptions for 25 yards per game to RBs. Fantasy managers couldn't have asked for a more appetizing matchup for Ekeler during the playoffs, but there is a serious chance he could be absent. If Ekeler were to miss Sunday's contest, veteran Justin Jackson would likely see the bulk of the work in the backfield, with Joshua Kelley also getting in the mix.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
