7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals left-handed pitcher Austin Gomber was called up from Triple-A Memphis on Thursday. He spent a week with the Cardinals earlier this season, but never appeared in a game. It's unclear how he'll be used this time around, but with Alex Reyes (lat) landing back on the disabled list, it's possible Gomber will take his spot in the starting rotation. He's been solid in Triple-A this season, posting a 3.60 ERA and 63:17 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 55 innings of work.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
