4 years agoColorado Rockies left-hander Austin Gomber earned the win on Saturday when he allowed four runs (two earned) on five hits with one walk and four strikeouts in a 14-6 win over the Diamondbacks. Gomber was not at his best on Saturday but this was a much-needed bounce-back after his nine-run meltdown vs. the Giants in his last start. A Ryan McMahon error in the bottom of the third inning led to a pair of runs scoring, hence the unearned runs for Gomber. Through 29 innings (six starts), the 27-year-old lefty is sporting a 2-3 record, 5.90 ERA, and 1.45 WHIP. Those numbers don't scream fantasy starter. He should be avoided, even as a streamer, in his next start against his former team, the St. Louis Cardinals.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
