Austin Gomber “Feels Ready” To Rejoin Rotation
3 years agoColorado Rockies pitcher Austin Gomber (forearm) said on Saturday that he "feels ready to rejoin the starting rotation," even if he's not fully stretched out. He threw 62 pitches in Friday's rehab start with Triple-A Albuquerque. The Rockies right-hander allowed three runs on five hits while striking out four across four innings. He was tagged with the loss. "I haven't been told the plan yet, but I feel like I'm ready to come back into the job," Gomber said. "I probably wouldn't throw 100 pitches my first time out, but as far as feeling ready, I feel like I'm ready to pitch here again." Gomber owned a (6-5) record along with a 3.68 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and a 76:23 K: BB across 78 1/3 innings before landing on the injured list. Fantasy managers should continue to stash Gomber as it appears the 27-year-old is ready to rejoin the Rockies' rotation soon.
