Austin Gomber Roughed Up On Friday
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Austin Gomber took the loss on Friday when he allowed five runs on seven hits with three walks and two strikeouts across four innings in a 5-4 loss to the Giants. Gomber got off to a rough start in this one, surrendering four runs in the first inning. Wilmer Flores did most of the damage with a three-run homer. Darin Ruf would pick up an RBI single in the bottom of the second to account for the fifth and final run against Gomber. The 27-year-old has been fairly reliable over the last few months but this was a bad day at the office. He now owns a 4.09 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 100:31 K/BB ratio over 101 1/3 innings (20 starts). He'll look to bounce back against the Padres at home in his next turn.
