7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Shildt said that starting pitcher Austin Gomber will take the rotation spot of Carlos Martinez (shoulder). The left-handed rookie took a no-hitter into the seventh inning in his first major league start on July 24 against the Reds and has a nice 3.22 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 7.3 K/9 in 22 1/3 innings overall for the Cards.
