Austin Meadows Could Return Next Week
2 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Austin Meadows (illness) won't return for the weekend series against the New York Yankees, but it sounds like he could be activated from the injured list for the short series against the Pittsburgh Pirates from June 7-8. "Getting back into baseball was a little funny for him just because he had hardly done anything for a couple of weeks...He said he felt great, symptom free. He said, 'See you soon.' That's a good sign," skipper A.J. Hinch said. Meadows has been out while experiencing symptoms of vertigo, but he played in his first minor league rehab game with Triple-A Toledo, and his return is on the horizon. The 27-year-old is hitting .267/.362/.347 with no home runs, 11 RBI and nine runs scored in 28 games this year, and he should return to a regular role in Detroit's outfield when he's cleared.
