2 years agoDetroit Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said that outfielder Austin Meadows (illness) could come off the injured list and join the team against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday, barring any setbacks. Meadows, who has been out since May 16 with symptoms of vertigo, is now symptom-free and hit a home run in a minor league rehab game on Saturday. The Tigers could ease the 27-year-old back into the lineup when he returns, but eventually, Meadows should see regular playing time in the outfield, especially with both Robbie Grossman and Victor Reyes on the shelf. Before going on the injured list, Meadows was slashing .267/.362/.347 with no home runs, 11 RBI and nine runs scored in 101 at-bats.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
