Austin Meadows Goes 4-for-5 In The Leadoff Spot
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Austin Meadows had an electric game Tuesday, going 4-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBI. He also walked once and struck out once, batting leadoff against right-hander Ervin Santana. This performance could force manager Kevin Cash to keep Meadows in the leadoff spot. He's also slashed .308/.386/.534 with three homers and two steals in 39 at-bats. Yandy Diaz has also seen time leading off, however, he doesn't have the base-stealing ability that Meadows possesses. Meadows is even hitting lefties in this season's small sample size with a .375 batting average against them. The White Sox and Blue Jays provide soft matchups, so keep Meadows in fantasy lineups this week.
