6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Austin Meadows went 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored, and a stolen base in a win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday. The rookie is now 13-for-29 with six extra-base hits and two steals in his first seven games as a major-leaguer, good for a slash line of .448/.448/.897. The Pirates face a tough decision with Meadows, however, as Starling Marte is due to come off the disabled list on Saturday. If the team doesn't bench or option the struggling Gregory Polanco, Meadows seems likely to head back to Triple-A Indianapolis to continue getting regular playing time.--Matt Wilkes
