Austin Meadows To Start Rehab Assignment Wednesday
2 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Austin Meadows (illness) will start a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday. Meadows was cleared to resume baseball activities last week while recovering from vertigo. The 27-year-old will likely play multiple rehab games on the farm, but he could return from the injured list during the team's upcoming five-game road trip, which begins on Friday against the New York Yankees. Meadows will play regularly when he returns to the Tigers active roster, and although he has yet to hit a home run, he was slashing a solid .267/.362/.347 with 11 RBI and nine runs scored in 28 games before he was sidelined.
